The island of Huahine, also known as “the wild one”, is made up of two islands joined by a bridge. Huahine NUI, the northern and larger island, has 4 districts: Fare, Maeva, Fitii and Faie. Huahine ITI, the southern island, has four rather isolated districts: Maroe, Haapu, Parea and Tefarerii.
The coral garden is 100 m from the pension: a mask and snorkel are all you need for a lovely outing. Kayaks are available, and the white-sand beach is a five-minute walk away.

The circuit round the island can be done in half a day (60 km), but a full day is recommended to make the most of the island’s sights.

Exploring the lagoon and the island’s shores is also highly recommended, with the operators Huahine Nautique and Poetaina. The day includes snorkelling, a picnic on the Tefarerii “motu”, a magical spot, and ends with fish and shark feeding.

By bike or by car: Sofitel beach is 18 km round trip via the airport “motu” road. Picnic on the beach and snorkelling in the coral garden, then an easy ride back along the main Maeva road. The route is flat and presents no difficulty.
